The Dawn of a New Era
TEDxIHEID: Our Idea Worth Sharing
Place : Maison de la Paix, Chemin Eugène-Rigot 2, Auditorium Ivan Pictet
Time : 9:00am to 5:30pm
Language : English
The inaugural TEDxIHEID conference will be held on March 26th under the theme, “The Dawn of a New Era”. Over the past two years, we have seen the words “unprecedented times” infiltrate how people conceptualise the changes happening around us, be it unprecedented health situations, protests, progress, or digress in diversity, and we wish to shed a positive and empowering light on how we can confront these times through the organisation of this TEDxIHEID conference.
We will have speakers focusing on a range of topics, which you can see in the attached programme. Within the realm of sustainability, we will have Frank Eyhorn (Biovision) speaking on "Rethinking Food - Transforming Food Systems for People and Planet", Mariana Veauvy and Bertrand Graz (Antenna Foundation) speaking on "Decentralising Science: Curbing Hypertension; Water Treatment for All", Victoria de Castro (World Benchmarking Alliance) speaking on "Finance for the SDGs", and more as we explore a new era for sustainability, technology, arts, diplomacy, and mental health.
The conference will feature 14 Keynote Speakers, 4 Performances, 4 Student Voices through Student Corner, and a networking event after the conference. For more information on tickets and how you can attend TEDxIHEID, please visit us at www.tedxiheid.com.
Do you have a lamp that no longer works? Or other appliances that you would like to repair for free? Bring your broken items to the Repair Café and we will try to repair them with you.
Place : Hall of Uni Bastions (ground floor), Rue De-Candolle 5, 1211 Genève 4
Time : 10:30am to 5:00pm
Language : French
Organizer: FRC Genève (https://www.frc.ch/agenda-frc/#repair)
At our FRC Repair Café stand, you will find a place where you can exchange information and best practices. You can also bring your defective objects (appliances, electronics, furniture, toys, bicycles and others) to make small repairs that could be prohibitively expensive with professional repairers or to learn how to repair them under the guidance of our volunteer technicians, to give them a second life and save resources. The objectives are economic (repair rather than buy), ecological (repair rather than throw away) and social (promote mutual aid and exchange).
The workshop does not provide spare parts, you should bring them with you.
This event is free and open to all.
